Yet another European trend is making its way to Asia. More and more fashion-conscious, modern women are opting for wedding dresses that can be worn again. With many brides choosing an off-white, or even blush gown for their big day, sometimes as second or third piece, this is also becoming a possibility, and indeed, the preference of many Asian women.
Whilst you might not wear a white, princess-cut gown to your best friend’s wedding, you might consider wearing a silk sheath such as the nude, embroidered, tulle dress worn by Carey Mulligan in ‘The Great Gatsby’. Take, for example, Jenny Packham’s latest collection, which is inspired by the glamour of the 1920s. Put away the veil and wear a beautiful hairpiece over soft, long curls instead, replace the wedding shoes by a pair of sparkly 6-inch sandals, accessorise with dramatic chandelier earrings and go for smokey eyes and dark lipstick. Then, you are only a clutch bag away from achieving the perfect evening look.
We often see celebrities, famously Kate Middleton, wearing their favourite pieces again and again, so why not wear your ‘once in a lifetime’ most flattering dress again? With a total change of look, even your husband might struggle to recognise it.
